As with any experience a person has, you will find pros and cons, especially as they pertain to your style. If you are a boating person, this is the place for you. Plenty of wide open water, yet it has high boat traffic. They say that there are plenty of fish in these waters, and they do have tournaments from time to time, but I can't imagine how anyone could fish with this much boat traffic. We much prefer the laid back kayak style, but again, with the boat traffic, good luck.

Our family and friends enjoy the volleyball court and the putt putt course. If you bring your own putters and balls you can play for free. There are nice covered and uncovered picnic tables and they are near the lake, playground, volleyball court, and putt putt course.

Super clean and great water front sites. Staff was super friendly. I’ll be back

The park itself is beautiful. There are many, many camping sites, though that is also a problem that makes you feel like a sardine. The sites are smaller and are right on top of each other. Some are waterside, and some are right along the main park drag and there is an inadequate number of places to park extra vehicles. There are many bathrooms/showers that are quite clean, well maintained, and appropriately spaced given the number of sites. Laundry is available at most of the bath facilities (1 washer/1 dryer). Campground hosts are friendly and around often.

You'll see some deer (NO HUNTING) running around, sometimes in larger packs, that aren't easily spooked. You can get fairly close for pictures and such as you hike the trails or even just driving around.

This is a very good family in. On the good side the place is really pretty and the folks are very very friendly there. I was in a motorhome. I think the sites are better suited to somewhat shorter units like under 30 ft. This park is do a makeover in so far as camping. Regardless, it is worth the trip and a very nice place to hang out.

Cool location for get-togethers. A lake you can swim in. Plenty of pavilions to rent for special occasions. I held my company's picnic there and we all had a blast. It's hard to find catering in the area so I would suggest (for those who are having events) plan to grill on your own or have a special caterer drive up from one of the major adjacent cities and pay them a little more for the delivery.

Overall, our personal experience hasn't been overly grand, given our more laid back and private lifestyle, but I can see how others would greatly love the park.
